WHY IS 100% NATURAL COTTON BETTER?
Raw ORGANIC cotton, white, spotless and pure, differs from industrial cotton in that it does not incorporate genetically modified organisms (GMOs). It provides optimal absorbency of liquid, and is 95% biodegradable. It provides maximum protection while remaining very soft and gentle.
WHAT IS CERTIFIED ORGANIC?
The cotton used as a basis producing VIVICOT BIO towels is certified as coming from lands uncontaminated by the use of pesticides or herbicides (as established by European Community Law EN 13432), and that the product was not later treated with chlorine. WHY IS IT HYPOALLALLERGENIC? The BIO cotton that is used as the basic fabric for producing VIVICOT BIO absorbent underwear does not come into contact with chemical additives or other contaminants either during its initial raw material harvesting and storage or during its later processing stages. This makes it hypoallergenic, having the ability to prevent against allergies, irritation or contact dermatitis of the skin.
WHO MAKES VIVICOT BIO?
VIVICOT BIO is manufactured by SANICOT, a family company with vast experience in the textile industry. Its historical track record and location in Prato, one of Italy's major textile regions are evidence of this. Textile industry research indicated that the basic raw material of all these products is either cotton or bamboo.
A LITTLE HISTORY OF ABSORBENT PADS
The first disposable absorbent pad was produced and distributed in the USA during the period of the First World War (1946) under the Kotex trademark. Its producer, the Kimberly-Clark Corp., a large multinational company specialised in paper and paper products, held the patent on its innovative combination of cotton and cellulose. In 1946, to create awareness and educate women to enjoy a better relationship with their body and cycle, a film was co-produced and broadcast by Walt Disney and Kotex. It is entitled 'The Story of Menstruation', and you can view it in full on YouTube. In Italy VIVICOT BIO is one of the first lines of sanitary towels made entirely from certified organic cotton.
